  • Initial Seasoning (Before Your First Culinary Adventure): Although Overmont cast iron arrives pre-seasoned, we recommend a foundational prep. Wash the cookware thoroughly with warm, soapy water to remove any factory protective layers, then dry it completely. Apply a very thin, even layer of high-smoke-point cooking oil or solid shortening to all surfaces, including the entire exterior, base, and handles.
